ARTIST BIO
Jeweli Eslinger was born in Portland Oregon and is a new transplant to Chattaooga, Tennessee. She is a self-taught Abstract Artist as of August 2021. Her artistic inspiration is created through the human experience. The idea that we are all driven by emotions, needs, desires, pain and how it affects our relationships we have with others. She believes that Art gives us an ability to relate to each other in a way that words sometimes fall short of. She is a lover of mixed media, often combining acrylic, spray paint, charcoal, oil pastels, paint pens and pencils on each canvas. Her favorite technique while painting is closing her eyes, freeing herself of judgment and allowing

the spill of emotions onto the canvas. Arts in the Burg will be Jeweli’s very first Gallery and she is so excited to be a part of it.

ARTIST STATEMENT
“I recently moved to Chattanooga Tennessee from Portland Oregon in May of 2021. I spent most of my life growing up in Portland, which was a city rich with diversity, art and culture. I started painting in August of 2021 in search of a new creative way to help me deal with all of the changes I was experiencing in relation to moving across the country and starting over. I fell in love with the ability to transfer my emotions onto a canvas. It became a sort of cleansing experience for me. Using a wide variety of colors, textures and mediums, I tell an original story about my personal experiences, background, memories, loss, pain and transform it into something people can relate to. I hope to inspire others to honor themselves as they meet me in those similar places and to find comfort in knowing that they are not alone.” – Jeweli Eslinger
Jeweli’s work is reasonably price and brightens the gallery in neon brilliance!
We hope you’ll join us Saturday evening but if you miss the event you can stop by the gallery during our open hours to see Jeweli’s works during the month of March.
